Viticulture in Japan

(BAFU) – On the afternoon of February 21, 2022, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) held an online working session with Prof. Dr. Aaon Kingsbury – The perspective of viticulture in Japan, lessons for Vietnam.

At the working session, on the guest side were Prof. Dr. Aaron Kingsbury – senior expert in the field of Agricultural Economics in Japan; Dr. Le Minh Tu, Dr. Dong Thi Chi – Lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. On the side of BAFU, there were Dr. Mai Thi Huyen – Vice Rector and representative of the Science & International Cooperation Department, Center for Applied Research and Technology Transfer of Agriculture and Forestry.

An overview of the working session

Opening the meeting, Dr. Mai Thi Huyen – Vice Rector introduced BAFU overview and the projects of growing Ha Den grapes to the delegates. Dr. Mai Thi Huyen hoped that the partners would have the opportunity to visit BAFU and discuss specific contents related to viticulture.

At the meeting, the both sides exchanged and discussed issues related to vines and found a direct connection between Japan’s viticulture and the viticulture industries of Vietnam. In addition, there was a more in-depth discussion of Japanese varieties and farming methods.
