BAFU pioneers in AI Application – 23,000 Students and 2,000 Teachers in Bac Giang attend training program on AI Applications

(BAFU) – On the afternoon of April 2, 2025, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU), in collaboration with the Bac Giang Department of Education and Training, held the Opening Ceremony of the training program “AI Applications” and launched the Science and Technology (S&T) Competition themed “Creating the Future with AI.” The event attracted the participation of thousands of teachers and students via online platforms across the province.

The Opening Ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Duong, Rector of BAFU, and Mr. Ta Viet Hung, Director of the Bac Giang Department of Education and Training. The event was attended by leaders of various departments under the Department of Education and Training, principals of high schools in Viet Yen Town, and nearly 1,000 online connection points from high schools across Bac Giang province.

In total, the program attracted nearly 2,000 teachers and 23,000 students, highlighting the strong appeal and significance of AI applications in education.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Duong emphasized the outstanding benefits that AI brings to the education sector. He affirmed: “The integration of AI with traditional teaching methods is an inevitable trend, helping to enhance education quality and equip students and teachers with essential skills in the digital era.”

Mr. Ta Viet Hung also expressed his gratitude to BAFU for pioneering this meaningful program. He also highlighted that Bac Giang is at the forefront of applying AI in teaching and learning, promising to bring positive results in the future.

The training program provided practical content, covering topics from an overview of AI in education and copyright protection to skills in prompt, content creation, image and audio and E-learning lectures. Students and teachers engaged in using AI to create mind maps, presentation slides and introductions about famous people and specialties of Bac Giang by AI. Expert Hoang Khanh Duong, Strategic Director of IVIET, shared: “AI is not just a tool; it is a driving force for educational innovation.”

The following training sessions will be conducted online from April 2 to April 4, 2025, focusing on AI-powered video creation using tools such as Invideo, Videogen, Heygen, and CapCut. The goal is to equip students and teachers with AI proficiency, enabling them to apply it effectively in learning and teaching.

The online connection points actively engaged in discussions with experts

Right after the training session, Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry launched the Science and Technology (S&T) competition themed “Creating the Future with AI,” for students from High school and Vocational education centers.

The competition challenges teams to create promotional videos showcasing Bac Giang province, focusing on topics such as historical figures, significant events, famous landmarks, unique cultural features, OCOP products, local specialties, or innovative ideas like “Bac Giang in the Digital Era.” The submitted videos must incorporate AI, have a maximum length of three minutes, be in Full HD format, and strictly adhere to copyright regulations.

Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry affirms its role as a companion and pioneer in AI applications. As the main organizer, the University not only creates an innovative platform but also lays the foundation for digital transformation in education.

From building digital infrastructure to raising awareness, the training program and competition serve as strategic initiatives to accelerate educational digitalization in Bac Giang.
