Cooperation in the Development of Startups and Innovation between Tra Vinh University and Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry

(BAFU) – On the morning of December 18, 2024, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) had a working session with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Tra Vinh University. The meeting marked the cooperation in developing innovation and entrepreneurship activities between the two universities.

Attending the meeting, on the side of the guests, were Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An – Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Tra Vinh University, and Director of Tra Vinh Business Incubator; Mr. Phan Vinh Quang – Director of Component 3, Business Ecosystem, IPSC Project; Ms. Pham Hoang Ngan – Policy Innovation expert of the IPSC Project. On the side of BAFU, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Hoan – Head of Science & International Cooperation Department; Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam – Dean of Faculty of Economics and Finance, along with staff and lecturers in charge of startup and innovation activities. At the beginning of the meeting, the parties introduced their organization, structure and development goals that each party hopes to achieve in this cooperation program.

Mr. Phan Vinh Quang – Director of Component 3, Business Ecosystem, IPSC Project shared

At the meeting, Mr. Phan Vinh Quang shared about the best general rules from Innovation Centers in educational institutions across the country. At the same time, he also presented a 10-point criteria framework for evaluating the effectiveness of universities in building innovation models.

In particular, Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An introduced the operational model of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Tra Vinh University, sharing practical experiences in its operation. Some key highlights include: Organizing “Student Startup and Innovation” competitions; incubating startup projects from ideas to realization; developing curricula and organizing courses on Entrepreneurship and Innovation; enhancing capacity for lecturers, and providing hands-on practice for students and pupils; and mobilizing social resources to support startup projects. Additionally, the expert also emphasized the importance of connecting the startup ecosystem among universities, seeking opportunities for collaboration with businesses and the community.

After sharing by experts, the Center for Applied Research and Technology Transfer in Agriculture and Forestry (BAFU) and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Tra Vinh University) signed cooperate with the following main contents:

1/. Organizing Workshops and Startup Networking: Providing training, sharing experiences, and connecting students with businesses and investors.

2/. Supporting Startup Ideas and Projects: Establishing a shared incubator and supporting research and creative development.

3/. Collaborating in Training and Research: Developing academic programs and organizing specialized courses.

4/. Sharing Resources: Implementing joint research projects.

5/. Building Networks and Mobilizing Resources: Collaborating with startup organizations, fundraising platforms and commercializing products.

BAFU and Tra Vinh University both affirmed their commitment to close cooperation in training programs, sharing resources and promoting innovation in education.
