BAFU participated in the 1st Festival for Voluntary blood donation in 2019

(BAFU) In the morning of April 24, 2019, at the Hall B5, Youth Union, Students’ Union of Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University coordinated with the Red Cross, the Bac Giang Steering Committee for Donating Blood organized “The 1st Festival of Voluntary blood donation in 2019”.

Doan Dac Canh, a third-year student shared: “I’m very excited to share my blood to help needy patients, and I’m very happy when I can do something useful,” He also said that this is the 2nd time he has donated blood, he will explain the benefits of voluntary blood donations with his students and friends to increase the Community’s awareness about such humanitarian activities.   

Mr. Dam Thuan Minh Binh – Secretary of Youth Union said: “The annual festival has basically aimed to assist during the blood shortage for emergency aid and treatment at hospitals, as well as provide safe and sufficient blood for development of high medical techniques, such as organ transplants and cancer treatment, saving lives of patients with fatal diseases”. He also expressed his hope that humanitarian blood donations would be further expanded among each family, as well as the entire society in the coming years.

It is known that humanitarian blood donation is one of the annual community activities of BAFU, held twice a year, that not only attracts teachers and students in the school but also spreads to surrounding communities, society and people

At the end of the blood donation festival, 145 units of blood were collected. This valuable blood will be added to the national blood bank, helping to reduce the difficulties and pressures of the health sector about the current blood shortage.
