(BGO) – Lychee tourism development in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) has been done for years. Thanks to diverse and creative implementation this year, the district has attracted many visitors.
It is now main lychee harvest season so Luc Ngan district is brightened up with the red color of ripe lychee hill. With the theme “Luc Ngan ripe lychee season”, the locality expected to welcome about 100,000 tourist arrivals and create a highlight in tourism development.

In previous years, the lychee garden of Giap Son Ecotourism Agricultural Production Cooperative in Chao village (Giap Son commune) was a popular destination for many tourists. The Cooperative was famous for its secret technique to make lychee tree have flowers and fruits on the trunk. Because the fruits were produced in line with the standards, they were sold out soon.
This year, the Cooperative cooperated with Phuc Lam Trading and Service Company Limited to launch tour to Global GAP lychee garden. Joining the tour, visitors can visit 2-hectare lychee garden and several adjacent ones to learn about the production process, enjoy ripe lychees, take photos and buy lychees as gifts.
Previously, when lychee bloomed, this travel agency used to take guests in Hanoi to see lychee flowers and camp under trees. In addition to visit the garden, take photos, visitors can experience to harvest honey. Particularly, 14 lychee trees were purchased with the price of over 10 million VND (427 USD) per tree so that when the fruits are ripe, its buyers will come to harvest.
According to the designed tour, with only 100,000 VND to buy ticket directly at the garden, visitors can participate in the lychee garden experience, freely eat fruits, visit and experience amazing activities and keep memories in the garden.
Moreover, the garden offers lychee harvest tour at night with the price of 500,000 VND. With this tour, visitors can enjoy lychee buffet, have dinner with local people and rest at their houses.
Besides, a photo contest themed “Lychee ambassador” was launched with many attractive prizes. Representative of organizer Nguyen Thi Tuyet said: “I was born and raised in Bac Giang. I used to enjoy lychees in Mexico, Australia and China, but none has such delicious taste as Luc Ngan lychee. Foreign country succeeded in organizing tours to visit vineyards, cherries among others. Realizing the great potential in Luc Ngan, I dream of introducing lychee garden tours to promote the special fruits to farther”.
There are nearly 20 tourism cooperatives in Luc Ngan district. Before the lychee season, the district surveyed and selected tourist spots, cooperatives and gardens with beautiful scenery, production in line with VietGAP and GlobalGAP process in large area which are laden with fruits and ease transportation condition.

Some units have hosted and organized many events such as: Dong Bac Cultural Tourism Service Cooperative (Chu township), Binh Nguyen Clean Agricultural Cooperative and Dong Dao Tourism Cooperative (Quy Son Commune), Thanh Hai Agricultural Production and Tourism Trading Cooperative (Thanh Hai commune), Green Luc Ngan Cooperative (Dong Coc commune) …
At this time, the cooperatives have completed facilities to welcome guests while actively promoting and linking to owners of gardens and travel agents to bring visitors.
Luc Ngan district is known as the biggest fruit hub in the North, in which lychee is a branded staple tree for a long time. In 2023, the district has more than 17,000 hectares of lychee with estimated output of about 98,000 tonnes. Currently, most people in Luc Ngan district develop lychee in line with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
