The event was attended by Politburo member and Vice Chairman of National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, among others.

The programme, which consisted of three parts themed: “For the south”, “The song of victory” and “Vietnam in new days”, featured the famous songs and dances recalling the heroism and sacrifices of Vietnamese people during the resistance war for national liberation and the great victories, including the Great Spring Victory in 1975.

The performances also highlighted the achievements that Vietnam has gained during the renewal period and the cause of national construction and defence.

The art programme aimed to affirm the great stature and historical significance of the resistance war against the US imperialists.

The event was also a chance to pay respect to people who sacrificed their lives and happiness for national independence and reunification, including revolutionary press forces.
