Agriculture sector has achieved high results in the first 6 months of 2022

The Agriculture and Rural Development sector has implemented the plan for the first 6 months of 2022 in the face of unfavorable weather conditions, the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict disrupting global supply chains and directly affecting prices of input materials…; but the Ministry and sector of Agriculture and Rural Development has always received the close attention and direction of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, the Prime Minister, supports from all levels, branches and localities; The joint efforts, overcoming difficulties and creativity of the business community, farmers across the country and the companions of the media have created social consensus… Thanks to that, the whole industry has achieved high and comprehensive results in all fields. The growth rate of agricultural, forestry and fishery production value in the first 6 months of the year was estimated at about 2.8%; in which, agriculture increased by 2.31%, of which livestock increased by 5.7%; forestry increased by 4.97%; seafood increased by 4.15%. GDP growth rate of agro-forestry and fishery industry in the first 6 months is expected to reach about 2.7% – 2.8%; in which, agriculture increased by about 2.2%; forestry increased by about 4.8%; seafood increased by about 4.05%.

Total agro-forestry and fishery exports in the first 6 months of 2022 reached USD 27.88 billion, up 13.9%. In which, the main group of agricultural products was 11.37 billion USD, up 8.8%; main forest products 9.1 billion USD, up 3.0%; seafood 5.8 billion USD, up 40.8%; livestock production 176 million USD, down 15.9%; production input 1.42 billion USD, up 64.8%. Contributing to that success were 09 products and groups of products with high export value and reaching over 1 billion USD (coffee, rubber, cashew, vegetables, rice, pangasius, shrimp, wood products); in which, rubber, coffee, rice, cassava and cassava products increased both in export volume and value.
