The 8th Congress of Vietnamese Student Association of Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University, term 2023-2025

(BAFU) – During the two days of September 22 – 23, 2023, at Hall B5, the Student Association Executive Committee solemnly held the 8th Congress of Vietnamese Student Association of BAFU, term 2023- 2025. It was an important political event and a significant milestone for the BAFU’s students.

The Congress was to focus on evaluating Association’s work and BAFU’s student movement, outcomes achieved through the implementation of the resolutions set during the Seventh General Meeting of the Vietnam Student Association at the BAFU for the term 2020 – 2023; Proposing directions, tasks, goals and action plans in the tenure 2023 – 2025; Electing the Executive Board of the Vietnamese Students’ Association for the tenure 2023 – 2025.

Attending the Congress were Mr. Lam Tung – Member of the Executive Board, Deputy Head of the Central Youth Union’s School Youth Committee, Member of the Central Secretariat of Vietnamese Students, Director of the Center for Support and Development of Vietnamese Students; Mr. Giap Xuan Canh – Deputy Secretary of Bac Giang Provincial HCYU. Attendees from the BAFU included Dr. Mai Thi Huyen, Party Committee member, Vice Rector in charge of the BAFU, Party Cell Secretaries; representatives of affiliated units and 110 typical delegates representing more than 500 members and students of the BAFU.

In the first working session, 110 delegates of the BAFU’s Vietnamese Student Congress approved many important contents such as electing the Presidium, the Secretariat; presenting the document of the 8th Congress, period 2023 – 2025, discussing and voting on the document; approving the personnel project of the Executive Committee, the Inspection Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association, term VIII, period 2023 – 2025. 

In the second working session, the Executive Committee of term VII presented a summary report on the Association’s work and the student movement for the 2020 – 2023 term and the directions of the Association’s work and the student movement at BAFU, term 2023 – 2025. The Congress negotiated to elect the official delegation and alternate delegates to attend the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Student Association, term 2023 – 2025. The Congress also unanimously approved the Draft Resolution of the 8th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnamese Student Association, term 2023 – 2025.

In his speech, Mr. Lam Tung – Member of the Executive Board, Deputy Head of the Central Youth Union’s School Youth Committee, Member of the Central Secretariat of Vietnamese Students, Director of the Center for Support and Development of Vietnamese Students praised and highly appreciated the achievements of the BAFU’s Vietnamese Student Association, especially in the Association’s work and the Youth Union’s movement. He affirmed that the Party Committee of the University is always ready to create all favorable conditions for the Association, especially in educating, training and fostering the talented and enthusiastic young generation.

Addressing at the 8th Congress,  Dr. Mai Thi Huyen, Party Committee member, Vice Rector in charge of the BAFU expected that the new Executive Committee of the Association would continue the achievements of the previous generations, concretizing the goals, tasks and solutions set out in the Congress. According to Dr. Mai Thi Huyen, the Student Association needs to focus on further promoting its achievements through the implementation of practical activities such as Students with Five good Merits, Green Summer Campaign and Volunteer Movements; applying professional knowledge by participating in innovation contests to solve practical problems; promoting scientific research and technology transfers; effectively promoting the role of the leadership team to complete the work of the Association and the student movement in the upcoming term.
