Workshop: Introducing some models and technical advances in the Agriculture and Rural Development sector

(MARD) – The workshop was attended by the leaders of the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics, staff working in research and library information of the Centers, Research Institutes and Schools under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and representatives of the Agricultural Publishing House.

As a unit receiving scientific and technological research results in the agriculture and rural development sector from institutes and schools, in recent times, the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) has introduced many research results, models and technical advances through the electronic library and electronic information page of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment to many readers across the country. Direct and specific information about models and technical advances in the agricultural sector on cyberspace not only helps support scientists but also creates favorable conditions for farmers to access and learn the content, thereby enhancing the ability to apply in practice. Many models and technical advances have been born to help farmers improve labor productivity and product quality. 

Through the presentations at the Workshop, delegates had a clearer view of the overall picture of the work of building, informing, communicating and transferring agricultural models and technical advances in general and in the fields of agriculture and rural development in particular.

In addition, delegates were also introduced to a number of new models and technical advances, including grafted tomato production techniques, in vitro propagation process of Phalaenopsis orchids, industrial-scale Phalaenopsis orchid production, propagation of Thanh Ngoc and Hoang Vu orchids by tissue culture, planting and care process of Thanh Ngoc and Hoang Vu orchids, model of applying technological processes to produce high-quality vegetable seedlings on an industrial scale, model of applying technological processes to produce high-tech pineapple, cucumber and tomato based on a commercial scale, Phalaenopsis orchid production model on an industrial scale in Hanoi and Hai Phong, etc. Through the workshop, scientists and managers also pointed out the shortcomings in research and transfer of models and technical advances in the current agricultural sector and lessons learned to help promote innovation in agriculture.

The workshop is a scientific event, a forum for scientists; those working in information, communication and library to see the meaning and role of research and the dissemination of scientific values ​​into practice. Through discussion, exchange and sharing of experiences, the goal of bringing models and technical advances at the workshop, the leaders of the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics emphasized the role of the Information-Library Department to be a bridge to help scientists approach farmers and businesses to contribute to promoting increasingly strong research efficiency.
