(BAFU) – On December 17th, 2022, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) welcomed and worked with the delegation of Hiroshima University, Japan led by Prof. Dr. Kaneko Shinji.
Attending the working session, on the side of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development were: Mr. Tran Thanh Nam – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Tran Xuan An – Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel and Organization; Mr. Vu Thanh Liem – Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department; Ms. Nguyen Giang Thu – Deputy Director of Department of Science, Technology and Environment. On the side of Hiroshima University, Japan were: Prof. Dr. Kaneko Shinji – Vice Rector along with an expert delegation. Welcoming and working with delegation, on the side of BAFU were: Assoc. Nguyen Quang Ha – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University; Dr. Dang Xuan Anh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the BAFU Council; Dr. Nguyen Tuan Diep – Vice Rector; Dr. Mai Thi Huyen – Vice Rector and representatives of some departments, faculties, centers and Than Nhan Trung High School.

Delivering his speech at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Kaneko Shinji, Vice Rector of Hiroshima University expressed his desire to cooperate with BAFU. Accordingly, the doctoral training course will be conducted at BAFU. Hiroshima University will train 10 PhDs taught by leading experts and grant degrees from the University for each course; Building 03 – 05 laboratories for intensive research on microorganisms, cell technology etc… at BAFU; Cooperating in scientific research, send experts to support the University in the fields of Agriculture such as Biotechnology, Information Technology and Scientific Data, Agricultural Economics; Supporting scholarships for students and postgraduate; Supporting BAFU to approach and propose JICA’s projects.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Ha – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of BAFU suggested that “the two sides need to detail a training cooperation plan and soon develop projects to submit to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources. After doctoral training course, they can cooperate on other contents with BAFU in scientific research, Master’s training and career guidance for High school’s pupils”.

Closing speech at the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Nam – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development thanked Hiroshima University, Japan for visiting and working at BAFU. He also expressed his support and provided additional comments to the proposals mentioned earlier by both sides. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would appoint to supplement the shortage of human resources and requested that Hiroshima University, Japan would arrange jobs for the training course after graduation.
