Waterbirds have been resident since the early 90s of the 20th century. Over time, the number of waterbirds increased rapidly, creating a crowded avifauna with thousands of individuals.

Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University determined that there are 15 species of waterbirds residing on campus: pygmy stork, gray heron, great stork, small stork, white stork, white stork, flying stork, swallow stork, cauldron, white-breasted hoe, water pheasant, yellow teal, lemon peacock, brown-headed lemongrass and small kingfisher.

Notably among these is the swallow stork, a rare bird species and classified as Vulnerable (VU) in the Vietnam Red Book in 2007. This is also a bird species that mainly settles in the south, migrating irregularly. breeds in the north.
