(BAFU) – To further promote the development of agricultural science and technology between Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) and Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GXAAS), China, on July 17, 2024, a delegation led by Prof. Huan Kaijian of GXAAS visited our University. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Hoan – Head of Department of Science & International Cooperation received the Chinese delegation and chaired the exchange meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Hoan expressed warm welcome to the Chinese delegation, and said that the University and GXAAS had cooperated in transferring grape and corn varieties in 2016 but the corn varieties had not developed as expected due to market demand. He hoped that GXAAS would cooperate in transferring biomass corn and new corn varieties; testing passion fruit varieties and continue to support the University in techniques and technology.

Prof. Huan Kaijian made a brief information and research directions of the Academy. He also delivered detailed presentations on drought-tolerant corn varieties that GXAAS had successfully researched and developed.
Following the discussion, both sides agreed to further explore and deepen cooperation in sending 1-2 officials to participate in the Young Scientist Program in Guangxi (Application deadline – August 13, 2024) and providing innovative plant varieties to BAFU for experimental purposes.
