(BAFU) – On the morning of September 29, 2023, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) held a scientific seminar on finding solutions to promote the development of eco-tourism and agricultural tourism at BAFU.
Overview of the seminar
Attending the seminar, the participants include representatives of the Bac Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Bac Giang Department of Science and Technology, Bac Giang Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, Intermediate School of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and experts, managers, businesses in the field of eco-tourism and agricultural tourism; Dr. Nguyen Tuan Diep – Vice Rector,of BAFU; representatives of faculties, centers and departments; members participating in the research topic.
BAFU was recognized by the Bac Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism according to Decision No. 417/QD-SVHTTDL dated November 17, 2021 as the eco-tourism destination in Bac Giang. BAFU has an area of nearly 60 hectares with a water bird garden of 14 species, and over 10 thousand individuals. The forest system combines a surrounding lake area of nearly 30 hectares, with the first vineyard applied the high-tech model in the North, BAFU’s flower garden, Golf training ground, Hoang Sa – Truong Sa exhibition Hall, outdoor playgrounds for children… creates a space of extremely wonderful tourist experience. However, the tourist destination at the University has been in the initial stage and not yet constructed and invested methodically, many advertising and promotional activities have not been created effectively.

In his speech, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Diep expressed his thoughtful and sincere thanks for the guests’ attendance at the event. He said that “with the goal of organizing eco-tourism activities and experiential activities to attract many visitors, BAFU is looking forward to receiving many comments to exchange from experts so that tourism activities at BAFU becoming a prominent tourist destination in Bac Giang province”.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Dung said that after a period of research, the group of researchers designed, compiled and delivered 1,000 leaflets introducing BAFU’s eco-tourism and agricultural tourism destinations; Designing signposts to tourist attractions; Creating a travel guide video at BAFU.

The seminar took place enthusiastically with 08 discussions and comments from experts on the potentials, opportunities and challenges of ecotourism development at BAFU, including: Long-term investment capital; exploiting the business models; environmental sanitation management; taking advantage of the potential eco-tourism and agricultural tourism at the University; promoting communication and building a multi-value tourism model…

The eco-tourism and agricultural tourism have been receiving more attention because they bring practical and meaningful benefits to tourists. The BAFU needs to focus on exploiting the its agricultural foundation and the benefits of tourists in order to improve the quality of eco-tourism and agricultural tourism at BAFU in the coming time.
