(BAFU) – At the invitation of Guangxi Institute of Veterinary Medicine (China), a delegation of 04 lecturers from the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) attended the short-term training course and International Seminar on “The China – ASEAN Seminar on Prevention and Control of Cross-border Animal Infectious Diseases” between China and ASEAN countries to exchange strategies for preventing and controlling cross-border animal diseases in member countries of Lancang-Mekong cooperation.
The training course on applying molecular biological techniques in controlling and diagnosing cross-border animal diseases was held for 2 weeks from September 4, 2023 to September 16, 2023 with the participation of countries in the region: Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Through this program, the participants have approached to modern techniques in examination in surgery, diagnostic test and quick and accurate detection of some infectious diseases such as: Elisa technique, RT-PCR, HA, HI, etc.

From September 17, 2023 to September 19, 2023, the seminar on “The China – ASEAN Seminar on Prevention and Control of Cross-border Animal Infectious Diseases” took place with the participation of more than 60 delegates from many countries and prestigious research institutes and universities in the world, including Professor Munir Iqbal (Pirbright Institute, UK); Professor Mazhar I Khan (University of Connecticut, USA); Professor Zhixun Xie (Guangxi Institute of Veterinary Medicine, China) and Ms. Jane Fulbrook – British Consulate General in Guangzhou province. At the seminar, delegates exchanged information about the situation of cross-border animal diseases in the world and approaches to control and prevent the diseases effectively. A delegation of lecturers from the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine – BAFU, including PhD candidates Do Thi Thu Huong, Nguyen Thi Xuan Hong participated in presenting 02 reports at the conference.
