(BGO) – On the morning of June 13, the 2nd Mission of the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Examination (hereinafter referred to as the Steering Committee) at the national level led by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son worked at Bac Giang province.
Receiving and working with the delegation were Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Head of Provincial Steering Committee Mai Son; leaders of the Department of Education and Training and members of the Steering Committee.
At the meeting, reporting to the delegation, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Bach Dang Khoa said that this year, the whole province had 21,081 candidates (including 20,658 students in grade 12; 423 free candidates registering for the exam). The exam would be held at 38 sites with a total of 914 exam rooms; 1,828 officials and teachers were assigned to participate in monitoring the examination and 191 officers marking the test in all districts and the city.
With the number of more than 3,000 employees mobilized to participate in all stages of the exam, up to this point, the preparation for the organization of the High School Graduation Exam in 2023 in Bac Giang province had been built and progressed the implementation in accordance with the plan of the province, guiding documents of Ministry of Education and Training such as completation of candidates’ registration dossier, entering of candidates’ data into the system; reviewing of data entered into the system to adjust and correct errors; well organizing teaching, testing, assessment, reviewing, guidance on skills of taking multiple-choice tests, organizing mock exams for grade 12 students, etc.
In order to ensure the safety, seriousness and fairness of the exam, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Provincial Police to develop strict protection plans in all stages of the exam from exam preparation to printing exam papers, transport, preserving exam questions, test papers, organizing exams, marking exams, etc. in accordance with the Exam Regulations, avoiding any even the smallest errors.
To ensure that no candidate had to drop out of the exam due to economic or travel difficulties when taking the exam, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union to set up volunteer youth teams to support the exam season; direct district unions, unions and affiliated delegations to support candidates and their families to participate in the exam. For candidates living far from the test site, accommodation for candidates and their family members had been arranged at official residences and people around the test sites were also mobilized to create conditions for candidates to stay during the exam days.
At the meeting, the delegation noted and discussed with the Provincial SC issues related to the safety of copying and transporting exam papers; safety at the test site; communication and information about the exam; medical notes, coordinating exam support; detectation of cheating devices in the exam to ensure a safe, serious exam at all stages.
Examining at the exam site of Viet Yen No. 1 High School, Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, the area where the exam questions were printed and working with the Department of Education and Training, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son highly appreciated the preparation of the conditions for organizing the high school graduation exam of Bac Giang province. At the same time, it was emphasized that the fact that test sites actively developed plans, ensured security, and arranged forces in key areas showed the province’s serious preparation for a safe, objective and quality exam.
Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son suggested that the Provincial SC and members continue to well perform the guiding and operating documents related to the organization. It would be essential to be absolutely objective, follow the process, instructions and regulations of the exam to ensure the interests of candidates.
In addition, the safety and security of exam questions and exams must be a top priority. It would be important to review the test scores to ensure compliance with the process, regulations, fairness and transparency of the exam; continue to do well in supporting and coordinating with agencies, departments and sectors so that candidates could enter the exam with peace of mind.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Mai Son thanked the comments of the delegation. The high school graduation exam took place every year, yet every year new situations arose due to objective factors. In the spirit of being objective, he requested departments, sectors and localities to stick to their tasks, strengthen the review work, and well prepare for all conditions, especially the Public Security to continue to review and inspect public security and safety at the test sites; continue to well implement the guiding documents and directions of ministries and local sectors to ensure the exam would be held safely in accordance with regulations to create the most favorable conditions for candidates as well as officials participating in the exam.
It wowuld be necessary to promote communication about the purpose and meaning of the exam, creating a comfortable mind for candidates before, during and after the exam; pay attention to support candidates with difficult circumstances and mountainous districts to prepare plans for floods and rains to ensure the safety of students on exam days.
