(BAFU) In the morning of April 21, 2019, at the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Training to organize a seminar “Connection between Educational Institutions and Enterprises for development of highly qualified agricultural human resources”.
Attending the seminar were Mr. Cao Duc Phat – Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Economic Committee; On the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, there were Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh; On the Ministry of Education and Training, there were Minister Phung Xuan Nha, Deputy Minister Le Hai An; Representatives of Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Education and Training of some Northern provinces; Representatives of universities and institutes of agriculture and forestry. Delegation of Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ha – Secretary of the Party Committee – Rector with leaders of the Faculties, Departments and Centers.
Overview of the seminar
Speaking at the seminar, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha said that the connection between Universities and Enterprises was a regular and indispensable activity in training and supply -demand relationships for human resources. “Vietnam now has 54 higher education institutions that are involved in agricultural education with 325 majors. He also affirmed that the central task of the Agriculture sector is to invest in high-tech agriculture. Therefore, training institutions must update and innovate training programs associated with practical requirements. The orientation of training must start from the market demand and ensure the supply of labor market with high quality”, he emphasized.

According to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, the training of highly qualified human resources for agricultural and rural development is now an urgent requirement and a major challenge for training institutions. The training of human resources with sufficient knowledge and skills, qualities and attitudes to meet the requirements and needs of high-tech agriculture, smart agriculture plays an important and decisive role in the industrialization and modernization of agriculture associated with new rural area development. At the same time, it also helps create breakthroughs in agricultural production and rural economic development in the context of international economic integration.

Speaking at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ha – Party Committee Secretary, Rector of Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University raised the issues of policies and effectiveness in using public assets of Universities when cooperating with businesses. With the experience of implementing the links and cooperation with the current businesses of the University. “It can be divided into two groups. The first group is independent cooperation in terms of resources, businesses place orders with universities, provide scholarships for students, and participate in developing training programs. The second group is that both businesses and universities cooperate, share the resources available“, he said.

On this occasion, the units have signed more than 30 reports of cooperation agreements between higher education institutions and enterprises in technology development research and training of high-quality agricultural human resources. Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University signed reports of cooperation agreements with 05 companies including: Hai Thinh Nutrition Joint Stock Company; New Hope Company Limited Hanoi – Bac Giang Branch; OceanVet Veterinary Medicine Joint Stock Company; Hoa Hoa Herbal Development Company Limited and Tan A Hoang Minh Joint Stock Company.
