(BAFU) – In order to promote the tradition of mutual affection of Vietnam and to show the university’s concern for the disadvantaged students at Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU). On the afternoon of January 9th, 2023, BAFU held a ceremony to give gifts to the poor students on the occasion of Tet holiday, 2023.
Many distinguished guests and representatives of BAFU were present, including Mr. JonSon – Branch Manager of Cathay Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Hanoi; Dr. Mai Thi Huyen – Vice Rector along with faculties, centers, functional departments and BAFU’s students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Dr. Mai Thi Huyen – Vice Rector of BAFU shared: “The program of Love Spring and Sharing Tet is also being implemented across university with the aim of supporting poor students to return home to celebrate Tet. Although the gifts are of small material value, they show the big concern and sentiment of all the staff and the teachers towards our students. This action also aims at promoting the Vietnamese good cultural traditions, reflecting the spirit of mutual affection at BAFU in particular and in the social community in general.” At the same time, she encouraged students in difficult circumstances to overcome difficulties and strive for excellence in learning and training. On behalf of BAFU, Dr. Mai Thi Huyen thanked for the companionship of Cathay Vietnam Co., Ltd in taking care of the University’s students during the past years.

This year, BAFU awarded 10 gifts, each worth 1,500,000 VND to poor students overcoming difficulties. Cathay Vietnam Co., Ltd gave 05 gifts to the students, each gift worth 2,000,000 VND. Previously, on the occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of the Student’s Traditional Day, the Student Union of BAFU also had given Tet gifts, bus tickets… to them to return home celebrating the Lunar New Year 2023 …
On behalf of the disadvantaged students, Nguyen Thi Hoai (D-KETOAN12A), a first year student at Faculty of Economics – Finance, said, “Over the past time, with our own effort, the big encouragement and precious sharing from our teachers and friends, we have worked hard and overcome many difficulties in studies and in life. We are very touched and extremely grateful to the teachers who gave us not only meaningful gifts but also warm hearts. Thanks to those great things, we will certainly have a really happy and meaningful Tet holiday with our family. On behalf of those who receive the gifts on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2023, we promise to become good students and successful citizens, so as to pay for the sentiment and concern that we receive from the teachers.”
The ceremony ended with many good impressions inside the participants. The beautiful images of overcoming difficulties of the disadvantaged students were expected to be a great inspiration for all the other students at BAFU.
