(BAFU) – On the morning of August 12, 2024, Prof.Dr. Pham Bao Duong – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) had a working session with the delegation of the Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China (GXAAS) led by Prof. Chen Canlin – Director of the Tropical Crops Research Institute.

At the meeting, Prof. Chen Canlin was pleased to visit and work with the BAFU. He said that “GXAAS and BAFU have had a lot of cooperation and achieved achievements. The Academy has just established the Tropical Crops Research Institute. This is a very large research Institute and operates independently. Two sides will promote to cooperate on new projects for mutual development”.

Prof.Dr. Pham Bao Duong sent a warm welcome to the delegates and briefly introduced BAFU’s activities and cooperation relationship between the University and Chinese partners. The Rector informed that” BAFU has made many efforts to set goals and achieve outstanding activities for nearly years: The University has achieved the Certificate of Quality Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions. The detailed planning for construction of BAFU at a scale of 1:500 is approved by Bac Giang province; opening new training majors and training systems; strengthening cooperation with universities under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Chinese partners.
The two sides discussed and reached an agreement on specific parameters standardization of machinery and equipment, as well as the production process of the Joint Laboratory for preserving and processing Vietnamese and Chinese agricultural products.
The cooperative project not only demonstrates the cooperative relationship between China and Vietnam but also creates confidence in the quality of agricultural products to meet standards for producers and consumers of the two countries. In addition, GXAAS and BAFU will continue to test new plant varieties in the near future and the University will participate in the 5th China-ASEAN Agricultural Science Conference at the invitation of GXAAS from October 18 – October 25 in Nanning.
