BAC GIANG- Laos’ Xaysomboun province on 8 January solemnly organised a ceremony to mark its 10th founding anniversary (13 December 2013 – 13 December 2023). The event was attended by the leaders of Lao Government, central ministries and agencies, leaders, officials, party members, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups of Xaysomboun province.
The delegation of Bac Giang province including Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Anh Duong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nghiem Xuan Huong and representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and PPC’s Office also presented at the event.

In his remark at the ceremony, Phoikham Houngbounyuang, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Governor of Xaysomboun province recalled the history and outstanding achievements of the province over the past 10 years. The diplomatic relations especially with Bac Giang province have obtained fruitful results. The achievements gained during 10 years are strong foundation for Xaysomboun to be more developed in coming time.
Speaking at the event, Le Anh Duong congratulated and expressed his pleasure at the socio-economic development results of Xaysomboun province. PPC Chairman of Bac Giang province affirmed the Vietnam-Lao relationship is an exemplary and rare friendship in the world which has been nurtured by strong bonds, loyalty and pureness.

In order to promote the good relationship, Bac Giang province has ceaselessly nurtured and developed the special friendship with Lao ethnic groups presented by the close affection between the mothers in Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province and beloved Lao students and devotion of thousands of Bac Giang’s voluntary soldiers who came to Laos to perform the nobble international mission.
Nowadays, Bac Giang province continues accompanying the Party Committee, government and people of Xaysomboun for prosperous development of both provinces. After signing the cooperation agreement in 2021, Bac Giang PPC worked out the implementation plan and the provincial People’s Council issued a resolution on policy to support training Lao students under the signed agreement. The exchange activities have been regularly implemented by both sides.

On behalf of the provincial Party Committee, government and people of Bac Giang province, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong wished the Vietnam-Laos friendly relationship and Bac Giang – Xaysomboun cooperative ties would be forever green and eternally sustainable.
On the same day, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong and other delegates visited Xaysomboun-Bac Giang Friendship Primary School which was funded total 3 million VND (122,690 USD) by Bac Giang province in 2023 with sufficient modern facilities.
