(BAFU) – On the morning of September 27th, 2022, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) participated in an online conference hosted by the Shanghai Institute of Agricultural Sciences with the participation of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai, Vietnam Counselor of the Ministry of Science and Technology in Shanghai, Vietnam Maize Research Institute.

Attending the meeting were: Mr. Thai Huu Minh – Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the Institute’s leadership; Mr. Nguyen The Tung – Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ha – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of BAFU and leaders of departments under the University.

Delivering a speech at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Ha – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector said that “BAFU has had close cooperation with institutes, universities and companies in China, especially more than half of the University’s PhDs are trained from Chinese universities, so he suggested that the China will support BAFU in testing vegetable and fruit varieties, maize… and look forward to the attention and support from the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai to introduce and connect with universities, research institutes and companies wishing to cooperate in research and transfer of agro-forestry technology”.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of agricultural science and technology, high-tech agricultural production, selection of vegetable varieties, rice and fruit trees, especially maize. The Chinese side will support BAFU in training to improve the professional qualifications of researchers in selecting and creating new varieties with high economic efficiency.
