4 candidates from Bac Giang win first prize at national excellent student contest

(BGO)- The Education Quality Management Agency (under the Ministry of Education and Training) on March 13 announced the results of the national excellent student contest in the academic year 2022-2023. 59 out of 89 candidates from Bac Giang province won prizes including 4 first prizes, 14 second prizes, 16 third prizes and 25 consolation prizes. Most of the students are from Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students.

The 4 first prizes came to Than The Cong, grade 11 student in Physics, Giap Vu Son Ha, grade 11 student and Tran Quang Hung, grade 12 student in Chemistry and Nguyen Huu Toan in Biology.

Particularly, there are 4 prizes in Mathematics (1 seconds and 3 consolations), 9 prizes in Physics (1 first, 4 seconds, 2 thirds and 2 consolations), 9 prizes in Chemistry (2 firsts, 4 seconds and 1consolation), 7 prizes in Biology (1 first, 1 second, 1 third and 4 consolations), 4 prizes in informatics (1 second and 3 consolations), 4 prizes in Literature (2 thirds and 2 consolations), 7 prizes in History (1 second, 3 thirds and 3 consolations), 5 consolation prizes in Geography, 5 prizes in English (1 second, 3 third and 1 consolation), 4 prizes in Chinese (1 second, 2 thirds and 1 consolation) and 1 third prize in French.

The province bagged 1 first prize (in Chinese), 17 second prizes, 30 third prizes and 18 consolation prizes at the national excellent student contest in the 2021-2022 academic year.

“The competition quality at the national excellent student contest this year is higher than last year. The candidates won prizes in most of the subjects, of which, all of the 4 first prizes are in natural science subjects. Particularly, this is the first time the province bagged first prize in Biology. This good result has been gained thanks to regular attention and encouragement by the provincial leaders, the Department of Education and Training, the student’s parents and great efforts of the teachers and students of Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students as well. Bac Giang province secured its position among top 15 provinces and cities nationwide at the national excellent student contest. To date, at least 9 students of Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students are qualified enough to be selected into the Vietnamese team to participate in international contests”, said Ta Viet Hung, Director of the Department of Education and Training.
