(BAFU) – On the morning of October 5, 2023, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) had a working session with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province on exchanging and learning the model of growing Ha Den grape, promising to usher in further prospects in promoting cooperation between the two sides.
Attending the working session, participants from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province included Mr. Nguyen Van Duc – Deputy Director; Mr. Nguyen Khac Dung – Director of the Agricultural Extension Center, and leaders of the districts’ Agriculture and Rural Development departments. On the side of the BAFU, including Dr. Nguyen Tuan Diep – Vice and the Center for Applied Research and Technology Transfer of Agriculture and Forestry.

Overview of the working session
In July 2017, Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GAAS), China conducted technology transfer of growing Ha Den grape to the BAFU and was granted a plant variety protection certificate by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2020. Currently, the Ha Den grape is grown in 20 provinces and cities in the North and South with an area of more than 100 hectares.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Diep was pleased to welcome the delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province to visit and work at BAFU. The Vice Rector said that technology transfer of growing Ha Den grape model had created a brand for the BAFU, affirming quality to consumers. He hoped that after the meeting, the two units would successfully cooperate to transfer the Ha Den grape growing model and achieve many successful results.

In response, representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province, Mr. Nguyen Van Duc sent his most sincere thanks to the BAFU’s leadership for warmly welcoming the delegation. “Quang Ninh province accounts for 43% of the agricultural sector, so the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province want to bring the model of growing Ha Den grape to farmers and develop educational experience and agricultural tourism. In the near future, we hope to receive full cooperation from the university to soon bring the model of growing Ha Den grapes throughout Quang Ninh province”, he emphasized in his speech.

At the meeting, the Center for Applied Research and Technology Transfer of Agriculture and Forestry introduced to the delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province a clear understanding of the potential for developing Ha Den grapes, the growing process, characteristics and economic efficiency of this variety.
On this occasion, the two sides proposed ideas for future cooperation. The meeting successfully took place, creating prospects for a good cooperative relationship between the two sides. It is expected that the BAFU will pay an official visit to Quang Ninh province to conduct topographic and soil surveys for growing Ha Den grape on November 2023, .
