BAFU worked with Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GXAAS)

(BAFU) – On the morning of April 11, 2023, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) had a working session with a delegation of experts from Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GXAAS) led by Mr. Lyu, Rong Hua – Deputy Head of International Cooperation Department. Welcoming and working with the GXAAS delegation were Dr. Nguyen Tuan Diep – Vice President of BAFFU and representatives of the Department of Science & International Cooperation, Faculty of Agronomy, Center for Applied Research and Technology Transfer of Agriculture – Forestry.

GXAAS has been cooperating with BAFFU since 2016 on the technology transfer to grow Ha den Grape, Melon and Maize. Up to now, growing Ha den Grape has brought the best and most successful results. Mr. Phung Duy Hieu – Director of the Center for Applied Research and Technology Transfer of Agriculture – Forestry said: In 2019, BAFU successfully registered for circulation, protection and process of growing Ha Den grape in Vietnam and transferred technology for farmers in 25 provinces and cities with about 120ha.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Diep – Vice Rector was pleased to welcome a delegation of experts from GXAAS, China to visit and work at BAFU. He shared, those partners and delegation of experts had highly appreciated the Ha den Grape variety. Therefore, BAFU wished to have a long time and comprehensive strategic cooperation with the Chinese partner Universities and Institutes. He also suggested to continue testing other varieties to transfer and grow in Bac Giang province in the coming time.

Mr. Lyu, Rong Hua – Deputy Head of International Cooperation Department (GXAAS) said that the cooperation in transferring and growing Ha den Grape variety has created a brand of cooperation between two sides. GXAAS agreed to provide advanced training for BAFU ‘s staff on growing Ha den Grape and other agricultural crops such as melon, bitter gourd, corn, sweet potato… He expected BAFU to send about 02 teachers to GXAAS for short-term training courses in the laboratory on bio-fermentation technology, food processing and preservation. As scheduled, GXAAS ‘s leadership  will have a business trip to BAFU in May, 2023.

Within the framework of the working session, GXAAS and BAFU discussed and agreed on cooperation contents (continue to test new varieties such as: Off-season melon, edible corn…, laboratory and training) and pointed out the shortcomings of cooperative programs between 2 sides.

On this occasion, the delegation of experts from GXAAS, China visited the garden of Ha den Grape, laboratories and campus landscape. The meeting took place in the joyful atmosphere in front of great opportunities in the learning, research and international cooperation environment.
